History Morgan was set up in 1967 by Odette Barouch and Jocelyne Bismuth, beginning life as a lingerie brand based in the Parisien textile quarter, Sentier. The sisters launched an aggressive expansion programme in the late 1980s and at one stage Morgan had outlets in most of London's fashionable high streets including the Kings Road and Oxford Street in London.
Today Morgan operates in 50 countries with 500 shops around the world and a further 210 concessions in Europe. In Britain it has just a handful of concessions in departments stores left, after quitting the country in March.
The company employs about 1,000 people, including 750 in France. The UK Operation had moved to 7 Back Hill, London (former site of the Van der Moolen Bonds offices), and appointed Fergus Patterson as their Managing Director.
